Neuschwanstein is Germanys most famous castle builtin the 19th-century on a hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen. The famous King Ludwig II of Bavaria built the castle as a retreat and in honour of Richard Wagner.
Linderhof Palace is located near Ettal Abbey in a steep valley in the middle of the Bavarian mountains. It is the smallest palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Linderhof is inspired by Versailles. Especially the gardens surrounding Linderhof Palace are impressive.
Itinerary Munich - Neuschwanstein - Linderhof - Munich
08:00am: Your driver / guide will pick you up at your hotel in Munich. Drive on the Autobahn to Füssen im Allgäu.
10:00am: Arrive at Neuschwanstein castle parking. We will pick-up the tickets for the interior visit of Neuschwanstein castle and walk up the steep mountain road to the castle entrance.
11:30am: On a public guided visit you will discover the interior of Neuschwanstein castle (tour takes about 30 minutes). You will have enough time to visit the exterior and to take photos. Walk back to the parking.
12:30pm: We will have lunch in a tyoical German restaurant nearby.
01:30pm: Drive to Schloss Linderhof.
02:30pm: Arrive at Linderhof castle. Visit the gardens and the castle. On a public guided tour you will visit the interior of Linderhof castle (tour takes about 30 minutes).
03:30pm: Drive back to Munich.
05:00pm: Arrive at Munich and drop-off at your hotel.
