Day 1:
Frankfurt am Main is the capital of Hesse and one of the economic and cultural centres of Germany. Main attractions are the Alte Oper opera, the Römer city square, the birth place of Wolfgang Goethe "Goethehaus" and the view from one of the syscrapers like Main Tower.
Day 2:
Würzburg occupies a picturesque position on the banks of river Main. Main attractions are the Festung Marienberg fortress, the Residenz palace, the Dom St. Kilian cathedral and the historic city centre.
Day 3:
Rothenburg ob der Tauber - the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The origins go back to the 12th century and little has changed since that time. The city walls still surround Gothic cathedrals and an array of gabled houses.
Day 4:
Neuschwanstein Castle and Füssen: Neuschwanstein castle was built in 1869-1886 for the eccentric Bavarian King Ludwig II and it is located high above Froggensee in a magnificent mountain scenery.
Day 5:
Lake Constance (Bodensee): The area surrounding the lake Bodensee is one of the most attracitve in Germany, in terms of both natural beauty and cultural heritage. The lake lies on the Border of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Day 6:
Black Forest (Schwarzwald): covered with trees, the Schwarzwald is one of Germany's most picturesque regions. Famous for its cuckoo clocks and Black Forest cake. The area is a paradise for skiers, climbers, sailors and active nature lovers. Visit Titisee, Triberg and Gutach to get to know the real Black Forest.
Day 7:
Freiburg and Baden-Baden: Freiburg is the gateway to the southern Black Forest and situated between Kaiserstuhl and Feldberg. Around Münsterplatz, Freiburg main square at the foot of the cathedral, you can find the historic city centre with houses of various periods from Gothic to Rococo. Baden-Baden is called the summer capital of Europe. The elegant spa resort was once the favourite destination of European aristocracy.
Day 8:
Bruchsal and Speyer: Visit Bruchsal palace which was built in 1720. The central part of the palace is occupied by a magnificant staircase built by the great Balthasar Neumann. Speyer was a free city of the Holy Roman Empire. The Romanesque Kaiserdom cathedral is a World Heritage Site. It was a long time the largest monumental Romanesque building in Europe.
Day 9:
Heidelberg is one of Germany's most beautiful towns. In 1386, Germany's first university was established here. In the late 17th century, French incursions totally destroyed medieval Heidelberg, including the famous castle. The town was rebuilt in the early 18th-century in Baroque style.
Day 10:
Stuttgart is the capital of Baden-Wurttemberg and one of th largest and most important cities of the Federal Republic of Germany. Beautifully situated among picturesque hills, the town is a major industrial centre (e.g. Mercedes-Benz, Bosch and Porsche) but also a cultural and publishing centre. Stuttgart offers a world famous ballet company, chamber orchestra, opera and art collections.
