Itinerary:
Munich - Lake Walchensee - Herzogstand summit - Munich
Early in the morning (approx 8am) we will meet at Munich train station or at your hotel to take the local train to Kochel am See - a really impressive train ride passing typical Bavarian landscapes. A short bus ride will take us to the start of our mountain trekking tour at Walchensee. Starting at an altitude of 2.600 feet / 800 metres we will walk in dense forest. At an altitude of about 4.600 feet / 1.400 metres we will leave the forest and walk on a mountain ridge which offers breathtaking views of the Alps. On this tour we will climb two summits: Heimgarten summit (5.840 feet / 1.780 metres) and Herzogstand summit (5.580 feet / 1.700 metres). We have the possibility to visit two typical mountain lodges which offer local food and drinks. On the way back, if we are too tired, we can take the Herzogstand cable car back to Walchensee. At around 6pm we take the train back to Munich, arrival at around 8pm in Munich.

- Altitude: max. 1.800 meters / 5.900 feet, diff. 1.000 meters / 3.280 feet
- Duration: approx 6-7 hours hiking
- Fitness: moderate
- Skills: no fear of heights, basic hiking experience
- Equipment: just bring good shoes (we rent backpacks, trekking poles and so on)
- Age: minimum 16 years (families minimum 12 years)
- Group size per guide: minimum 1 person, maximum 4 persons
